Meet our TA's!

Lesson 3 • COMPLETED TUE. OCT 7

This course would not be possible without our wonderful TAs. Excitingly, our TAs were all students in our course at some point! So they are all very deeply familiar with the material.

Our TAs are in Discord and available to answer questions. They are also very experienced with AI and ML in general, so definitely ask them questions! Here are some bios and videos introducing them:

Vishal Bakshi

I'm Vishal, one of the TAs for the AI Evals course. I'll be answering questions and engaging in discussion in the course discord server. I was in the previous cohort that ended in August. I've been in data since 2017, working as an analyst and have been into machine learning since then as well. I'm also a fastai student and community member. Recently I became a maintainer for the stanford-futuredata/ColBERT library. I keep an active blog and YouTube channel on all things I'm interested in ML and you can find me on X at @vishal_learner

Eleanor Berger

I'm Eleanor Berger (intellectronica everywhere on the internet) - TA helping answer your AI engineering questions here in the chat. I've been doing software for the last 30 years or so, and AI engineering since the early days of deep learning. Following a long career as an engineer and engineering manager at various startups and then at Google and at Microsoft, I have recently started my own practice advising companies and teams adopting AI engineering. In addition, together with Isaac Flath and I am blogging and teaching a course about AI in software development.

You can find more about me and my work at: https://intellectronica.net/ ・ https://okigu.com/ ・ https://elite-ai-assisted-coding.dev/ ・ https://github.com/intellectronica ・ https://x.com/intellectronica ・ https://www.linkedin.com/in/intellectronica/ ・ https://www.youtube.com/@intellectronica ・ https://everything.intellectronica.net/

John Berryman

I worked on teams that built search and recommendation for Eventbrite a couple of times, and built code search at GitHub from scratch. Moved into AI as an early production engineer on GitHub Copilot. Wrote a couple of books - one about search relevance, one about AI application dev. And I'm currently an indie consultant at Arcturus Labs. Nice to make your acquaintance.

Isaac Flath

Isaac brings a background in product management and AI to this course. After working at an AI research lab, he started his own company where he creates courses, consults for businesses, and builds his own products. Here, he will answer your questions and lead practical workshops. These sessions will show you how to use AI to learn and to solve the homework, helping you connect the technical assignments to real-world applications. Steven Tartakovsky

Recruited out of college by Deloitte Consulting, Steven worked on and managed technology projects across a variety of industries. Transferring back to academia, he pursued graduate mathematics research at Cal Poly and briefly was a PhD student in Applied Math at University of Southern California. Since then, Steven has worked as a data scientist and software engineer for consumer and enterprise technology companies. Steven holds a bachelor’s and master’s in mathematics from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
